On April 16, Student Satellite hosted the second Space Quiz at the SUHE bar in Tallinn. Once again, it was a blast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bar was full of space enthusiasts \u2013 21 teams were competing. Our sponsors, SUHE bar, A. Le Coq, MyFitness and the Estonian Space Agency gave out awesome prizes. We were happy to see new people taking part in the quiz. Even better, some participants showed interest in joining Student Satellite. The main organisers of the Space Quiz, Student Satellite members Karoliina and Milena, shared their thoughts on the event. According to them, the most memorable moments were the buzz in the bar during the particularly exciting questions and the knowledge duel between two teams with equal scores. The participants\u2019 funny answers, such as \u201csquare cheesy planet\u201d, also lifted the mood. Fortunately, few answered incorrectly on purpose; most people took the game seriously and fought for first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good quiz has to have interesting questions that make the brain work harder. The girls pointed out that coming up with exciting questions and choosing the best ones from them is also the most difficult process in making the quiz. Ideas were taken from space-related popular science magazines, films and what they have learned at school. The engineer of ESTCube-1 and current mentor, Erik Kulu, also provided help and inspiration. Looking at the statistics, the question about astronauts’ exercise routines turned out to be one of the most difficult ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next space quiz will probably take place in a few months, depending on the interest of the participants and the readiness of the Student Satellite members. In the meantime, future participants can educate themselves and prepare, because the next event promises to be at least as exciting! The organisers pointed out that although there were not enough chairs for everyone this time, they will definitely get more tables and chairs in the future.
